Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a paid Zoom account?

No, a free Zoom account will work, but it limits meetings to 40 minutes. For extended classes, we recommend a Zoom Pro account or higher.

Will students need Zoom accounts to join classes?

No, students can join as guests without creating Zoom accounts, though having accounts may provide them with additional features.

Can I use multiple Zoom accounts with Addis Astemari?

Each teacher can connect one Zoom account to their profile. If you need to switch accounts, you'll need to disconnect the current one first.

What happens to my Zoom classes if I disconnect my account?

Existing scheduled classes will remain but cannot be modified through the platform. Students can still access the join links, but you won't be able to create new Zoom classes until you reconnect.

Can I use Zoom's advanced features like breakout rooms?

Yes, once the meeting starts, you'll have access to all the features available in your Zoom account. The integration primarily handles scheduling and access.

How secure is the integration?

The integration uses OAuth 2.0 for secure authorization. Addis Astemari never stores your Zoom password, only a secure access token that can be revoked at any time.
