The Addis Astemari Zoom Integration allows teachers to seamlessly connect their Zoom account to our platform, enabling automated creation and management of live classes directly from the Addis Astemari dashboard.

Before setting up the Zoom integration, please ensure you have the following:

While a free Zoom account will work, we recommend a Pro account or higher for extended class durations and additional features.
Follow these steps to connect your Zoom account to Addis Astemari:
Login to your Addis Astemari account and navigate to the Teacher Dashboard.
In the left sidebar menu, click on "Settings" and then select "Integrations".
Find the Zoom card in the integrations list and click "Connect".
You will be redirected to Zoom to authorize the integration with the following permissions:
On the Zoom authorization page, click "Authorize" to grant permissions to Addis Astemari.
After authorization, you'll be redirected back to Addis Astemari. The integration status should show "Connected".
Important:
If you've previously authorized Addis Astemari in your Zoom account, you may need to disconnect it first from your Zoom App Marketplace settings before reconnecting.
Once your Zoom account is connected, you can start using the integration:
Navigate to your course, select "Live Classes" and click "Create New Live Class".
This will automatically create a Zoom meeting and populate the join information for your students.
From the Live Classes section, you can:
Students will see the live class in their course timeline. When it's time for class, they can click the "Join Now" button to enter the Zoom meeting directly.
If you need to disconnect your Zoom account from Addis Astemari, follow these steps:
Important Note:
Disconnecting your Zoom account will not delete any existing scheduled classes, but you will no longer be able to create new Zoom classes or modify existing ones until you reconnect your account.

No, a free Zoom account will work, but it limits meetings to 40 minutes. For extended classes, we recommend a Zoom Pro account or higher.
No, students can join as guests without creating Zoom accounts, though having accounts may provide them with additional features.
Each teacher can connect one Zoom account to their profile. If you need to switch accounts, you'll need to disconnect the current one first.
Existing scheduled classes will remain but cannot be modified through the platform. Students can still access the join links, but you won't be able to create new Zoom classes until you reconnect.
Yes, once the meeting starts, you'll have access to all the features available in your Zoom account. The integration primarily handles scheduling and access.
The integration uses OAuth 2.0 for secure authorization. Addis Astemari never stores your Zoom password, only a secure access token that can be revoked at any time.
